This year, we had our biggest surprise way before Christmas; even before Thanksgiving! Heike and Stefan, my longtime friends from home, paid us an unexpected visit. After 6 1/2 years I finally got to see them once again! It was so exciting and I was very happy...

We went on many short trips: San Diego, San Francisco and all around the greater LA area. We talked about old times, we had some beers, ate out, we laughed, and hung out with our friends here. My German definitely needed some practice. MJ learned some native Nurnberg words, courtesy of Steff and Heike. Pretty soon it felt like no time had passed!

They're both hardcore cyclists and we went on a nice bikeride together in Malibu. It was their favorite day! Check out their website here. Saying good-by was not an easy thing, but I know that we'll see each other again soon, so I cannot be too sad!
