you go look at more rocks.

Just past Artelshofen are Pavian and Student (left and right, respectively). Student is home to Simon (10-, UIAA; 13b, YDS), which Lynn Hill onsighted 15 years ago.

It's grey limestone, but not too sharp and not too brittle; just perfect. But hard routes.

Even though the road is directly beneath Student, the traffic is light. You look out from the crag and see the forest and the Pegnitz river. And right next to you are wild raspberries and flowers. Such is the beauty of the Frankenjura.
