The Grand Tour So Far

Nuremberg on a gorgeous summer day: blue skies, romantic old buildings (der Liebfrauenkirche [Our Lady's Church])...
and tourists not looking where they're going because they're too busy gawking at the architecture. (Schöner Brunnen [Beautiful Fountain], in the background. Hm. Guy looks familiar.)
Friday was market day, and colorful stands of fruits and vegetables were on display. We shared a basket of the sweetest strawberries, bought from this stand.
The Sanktsebalduskirche (St. Sebald's Church) is undergoing extensive restoration. Old and new brick create a random checkerboard.
More old architecture. Such interesting silhouettes they make against the sky! Southern California has nothing remotely close to that.
Even the signs are quaint. This one, for a café, boasts that it's been around since the 1600s.
