A little route in the Frankenjura
October 3, 2007

It's incredible how one route, comprising 16 sustained moves, can have so much significance in sport climbing.

Images don't do it much justice; it's something that begs to be seen in person. The angle is unbelievably steep. The pockets are small, wickedly so. It's no surprise that only 9 people have successfully redpointed it since its bolting, in 1991.

At the rate that he's putting away hard sport routes in the Frankenjura, I have no doubt that Adam Ondra will add this to his tick list. Soon. Perhaps he's building up to it?

Having small fingers, as a teen, would definitely help.

I wonder when a woman will give it a try.

Who wouldn't be tempted to give it a try? (Ha ha.) Or at the very least, do the opening moves?
