A different kind of pretty
This old chateau caught my eye as we drove down the D905 back toward Marcilly-les-Vitteaux, from our trip to the supermarché. I made a (rather unsafe) u-turn in the middle of the road and drove back, then parked on the gravel turnout. We walked over the bridge and just around the building, only to discover it was still occupied, and not just pretty old ruins! Ah, well. We're happily settling into a routine that involves walks every other morning into town for freshly-baked bread (a baguette, a flute, perhaps a pain au chocolat or pain aux amandes), and later in the day, for deux petits cafés, s'il vous plaît, et deux verres d'eau at our local hangout. We've been camping long enough that some people recognize us, and we've seen so many people at the campsite arrive and leave. The climbing is excellent; hard ratings, sometimes annoyingly sandbagged, but so very good. We can't ask for anything more. ----- For the people who check this blog frequently, Sage is a Firefox feed reader extension that's useful to have in your Bookmarks Toolbar folder; this tutorial shows how to use Live Bookmarks (again, in Firefox) to keep you in touch with updates to the blog.
