I've updated photolog.

This much-needed facelift has been on the drawing board since I redesigned my knitting blog. In the process I totally got Movable Type's modularization; it's still a bit clunky, but that was a dramatic improvement over what it started out with.

Whereas Yummy Yarn was a redesign, photolog's is an update. I cleaned up my code and css for more efficient editing. I've kept the basic design and color scheme (greys); simple is always best. It's now optimized for a 1024-pixel browser width. It's now based on an 8-column grid; there's a cleaner separation between the nav and the content. The masthead image and color accents will change every month or season, depending on our internet access while we're traveling. I've simplified the global navigation to 3 items; the Links page was rarely updated so I'll have to think about how to categorize the random blogworthy bits I like to add to the end of each post. The About page has been edited and provides a copyright statement. Every image since April 2008 now has a caption, and from this point onward every link itself will have a caption. Quite possibly the only things I need to add are a Search function and a better Gallery tool. Those are in progress.

Activating comments and trackbacks were briefly considered, but this is a private blog. I don't necessarily want to invite more attention to it.
